This project is an effort to begin restoring the dunes along Panama City Beach. Most importantly, dune vegetation aids in the stabilization and growth of our dune system. The newly planted vegetation will actually help trap and secure windblown sand – thereby growing sand dunes without actual sand placement. While this project will not include any sand placement, the installation of dune vegetation will enhance our beach nourishment project by providing additional storm protection to our upland properties and infrastructure along the Panama City Beaches in the future.
